Slalom

Canoe Slalom is also an Olympic Discipline in which Great Britain has excelled over the years. At the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, David Florence won a Silver Medal in the K1 Mens event.

Slalom

Friends of Allonby members used to be very involved in Slalom in the 1990s, and for many years the Club ran an excellent Div. 3 Slalom event each season on the River Tryweryn near Bala in North Wales.

However, we currently don't have any members who take part in BCU Slalom events although this situation may well begin to change as we now have a Slalom Representative, Charlotte Lister, who is attempting to promote interest again within our Club.

If there is a demand from our members we can easily hang slalom gates in a dedicated section of our Polo and Slalom Facility at Dukes Dock for training purposes, and we have a number of slalom boats in our inventory which can be used for training or borrowed to take part in slalom events.
